Certified Hand Therapy
Hand therapy at Broken Arrow Physical Therapy is provided by a certified hand therapist. Todd Alpers, DPT, OCS, CHT, has achieved the distinction of being a Certified Hand Therapist as well as being a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist in physical therapy. To become certified as a hand therapist, an individual must accrue numerous hours of direct hand care and take a national certification test. Hand therapists treat numerous conditions of the upper extremity including common injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome and tendinitis as well as complicated injuries such as tendon repair, tendon transfer, and other severe injuries requiring custom splinting to protect and assist in recovery.
