Postural Restoration in Bend

The Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) certified and trained clinician utilizes a unique approach to resolving musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. Basic concepts of PRI are formulated from the fact that the human body is not symmetrical in its anatomy and function in several ways. The neurological, respiratory, circulatory, muscular and vision systems are not the same on the left side of the body as they are on the right. They have differing responsibilities, function, position and demands that must compliment each other and integrate for optimal health and performance of all systems in the body.

The PRI credentialed and trained clinician recognizes these imbalances and typical patterns associated with the disuse, weakness, or overuse of these systems, that most often lead to asymmetrical positions, tendencies and movement patterning, thereby contributing to a long list of musculoskeletal conditions from head to toe such as:

  • Back Pain / Strain / Disc Herniation
  • Pelvic Pain / Dysfunction
  • Headaches
  • TMJ pain/dysfunction
  • Neck pain/strain
  • Shoulder pain/strain/rotator cuff injury
  • Tendonitis
  • Bursitis
  • Hip pain / dysfunction
  • Knee pain/ patello-femoral pain
  • Ankle/foot pain/sprain/plantar-fasciitis
  • Difficulty walking
  • Difficulty tolerating prolonged sitting or standing
  • Decreased endurance and/or sport performance
  • And many more……

Our postural restoration Bend clinician works with all providers and medical specialties, including even dentistry, orthodontia, optometry and podiatry in efforts to more-fully root out the cause of a dysfunction and pain.

The PRI approach to reducing and eliminating pain and restoring function first recognizes the more common (compensatory) patterns of human stance, extremity use, respiratory (breathing) function, vestibular imbalance, cervical-cranial-mandibular orientation and foot dynamics. Efforts to then balance these normal human patterns as much as possible, through the use of specific exercise programs and manual techniques unique to PRI, are implemented. Amazing results are realized when patients and clinicians work together toward regaining a life with less pain, less stress, less fatigue, less injury, and restored endurance, strength, balance, power and performance.
